24.7%Occupancy by tenantsin Nagpur
Around 1.74 lakh families are residing or doing business from rented properties across the city, states a survey conducted by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). According to the property tax revaluation drive undertaken by the civic body in the last two years, occupancy by tenants was pegged at 24.7%. Probably for the first time in the city’s history, the survey collected some interesting facts and figures. There are 7,06,271 individual buildings, flats and shops across the city. Of the total properties, occupancy by owners is 5,32,040 and the remaining 1,74,231 are used by tenants.
