2000 housing units to be made in Rudrapur

The Uttarakhand Housing and Urban Development Authority (UHUDA) on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Water and Power Consultancy Services Limited (WAPCOS) for development of housing units under the Jan Awas Yojna. The phase I of the project coming up in Rudrapur will comprise of 2,000 units of 1BHK apartments costing approximately Rs 2.5 lakh each. “We have given the company about six months to complete the project. Since the work is expected to begin by the end of November, the units should be available to people by April 2017. We are also looking at expanding to the other cities in the state soon. UHUDA will be responsible from conception to commissioning of the houses.” Said Meenakshi Sundaram, secretary, Housing, Government of Uttarakhand.
