DHFL Q1 profit surges 29% YoY

Dewan Housing Finance Corporation (DHFL) reported a 29% rise in net profit at Rs. 260.48 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2017 against Rs. 201.40 crore in the same quarter previous year.

Total income from operations also increased to Rs 2,407.78 crore in the June quarter this year, from Rs 1,955.56 crore in the June quarter last year, the company said in a BSE filing. Home Loan sanctioned by the company during the June quarter also increased by 23% to Rs 10,862.79 crore, against Rs 8,800.68 crore in the same period last year. Disbursement during the quarter also increased by 33% to Rs 8236.92 crore.

A 27% rise in net profit for the entire 2016-17 was also recorded. The company earned a profit of Rs. 927 crore in 2016-17 as compared to Rs 729 crore in the previous financial year. It earned a total income of Rs 8,857 crore for last financial year, compared with Rs 7,300 crore a year ago.
