A sports enthusiast and a seasoned marathoner Sunil’s interest in marathon are from the fact that this sport teaches you of self-control and perseverance. To him successful business is like marathon run and not sprint you need to be consistent, strategist, adaptive and focussed it is about taking a bigger picture approach. Sunil’s journey from an inquisitive engineering and management graduate to astute and maverick CEO is nothing short of excitement and accomplishment. He derives his inspiration from Richard Branson, Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi. Challenging mediocrity, standing by the principles and realising the goals are his recipe for success. His humble beginning started as a management trainee at Atlas Copco and later with Anagram Finance Ltd, but his career grew leaps and bound at ICICI. He was a member of the core team which started mortgage business for the bank in 1999 and got elevated to General Manager and Head of Mortgages and Real Estate of ICICI Bank. Under his management, the bank achieved the leadership position in the mortgage business in India. His passion, business acumen ship and leadership qualities propelled him to be a Managing Director and CEO of ICICI Home Finance, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ICICI Bank. He had always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur and hoped to form a world class company. He got this opportunity by establishing his footprints at ASK as Executive Director and establish ASK’s entry into real estate private equity business in Sep 2008. Today ASK PIA (Property Investment Advisory) is the largest, and most respected and trusted Property Investment Advisory Company in India. His deep-rooted understanding of Wealth management, Client behaviour and financial instrument led to his elevation of MD & CEO of ASK Group. Under his leadership the each of ASK’s business verticals like Portfolio Management, Real Estate, Private Equity and Wealth Advisory has achieved leadership position and the group AUM has grown from Rs.3000 Cr. in 2008 to Rs.30,000 Cr. A true leader creates an environment that helps the entire eco –system to grow as it not only boosts the business but individuals too. Teaching, training and grooming young talent is his passion. He believes that a well groomed and guided talent shall become a potent weapon in any organisation armoury, it not only allows leader to focus on next business opportunity but also helps organisations in developing a culture of building leadership talent pool willing to drive business, he belief is that this is the finest way to hand-over legacy for generations to appreciate.
