Realty+ talks to Seema Das Patra (GM, Vatika Group). She heads the entire commercial vertical of Vatika Group, handling turnover to the tune of 100 cr +.She has been an integral part of the company’s exponential growth in the hospitality division.

What are the services you provide to clients- residential & commercial?

Enviro covers a 360 degree approach in providing integrated facility management services to its clients. These services can further be bifurcated as Technical maintenance and operations, soft services for buildings and business support services, which means any aspect coming close to these subdivisions will unanimously be covered by us. We ensure to do so with our well skilled professional staff and make sure that the quality doesn’t suffer so our clients keep coming back to us and stay with us for a long time.

What is the potential of facility management in India?

Facility management has grown from $34.65 Billion in 2018 and aims to reach 59.33 USD billion by the end of 2023. Growing at a (CAGR) of 11.4 % as noted globally, India on the contrary is fostering the domain at 5% annually as it enriches it by no longer supporting the cliché operations relating to FM like housekeeping, pantry services and more. At such a steady pace, facility management is potentially expected to grow by 25% by the end of 2022 in India.

What are the challenges of being a woman in a male-dominated industry?

For me it’s always about knowing my drill well. You can’t be daunted as you set yourself out to fight the odds. As long as you know your facts right and are aware of the then and now, no challenges can stop you from reaching for the stars.

What growth are you looking at in the hospitality division?

Figuratively, the hospitality industry is expected to grow by 48 billion by 2020 at 11-11.5 percent. These numbers are magnanimous enough to reflect on the huge growth commencing ahead. Some of these growth factors are tech explosion and introduction of seamless technology, employee well being, re modeling staff responsibilities, real time damage control and fostering employee morale through unique perks.

What are you looking at professionally achieving in the coming years?

With over 17 years of enriching experience in the field of FM, I feel like a veteran ready to take on more as I begin to craft FM services in a good shape with my understanding through the years. That will call for more challenges which will foster my growth as I move ahead in my profession.
