Madhya Pradesh Relaxation on Stamp Duty Will Foster Demand
Satish Magar, President, CREDAI National As Madhya Pradesh Government has reduced the cess on stamp duty from 3% to 1% till December 31st 2020 on property buying and selling in urban areas, CREDAI National welcomes the move as another positive measure by Indian states. Madhya Pradesh Government has reduced the cess on stamp duty from 3% to 1% till December 31st 2020 on property buying and selling in urban areas. The relaxation of 2% on stamp duty is a welcome move as this will benefit customers and foster demand creation in the real estate sector which had been majorly affected by the COVID19 lockdown. CREDAI has been continuously advocating with state Governments for reducing the stamp duty on property transactions. Now with MP and Maharashtra implementing this, other states too should follow this to bring some cheer to property buyers during the upcoming festive season.”
