They are known as the Masters of Revival and Reinvention, taking ancient techniques and craftsmanship and elevating it to contemporary styles. Chikankari, Zardozi, Tharad, Mirrorwork are just some of the old that they have now made new. Viewed as artists who straddle the dual worlds of Fashion and Architecture, their unique sense of aesthetics is firmly rooted. A recent example of the designer duo’s eclectic design sensibilities is the grand residence at Lodha Ciel, the latest in Lodha Luxury’s ensemble. The interiors bring a seamless blend of AJSK’s timeless, signature designs inspired by Indian culture and Universal Art Deco styles. The residence showcases both heritage and contemporary craftsmanship at its finest. From wood work by local artisans to couture modern brass furniture and mirror installations which play with natural light to amplify both the interiors and the stunning vistas of the Mumbai Skyline. “Your space must show the world who you are.” Is what, both Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla vociferously believe in. “During this pandemic’s difficult times as we spend more and more time at home, a sanctuary that showcases luxury at its highest pinnacle, a symphony of physical beauty and spiritual bliss is the perfect amalgamation for a home, stated Abu Jani “India has inspired our work through the years and forms an integral part of our artistic expression in interior design. In fact, our foray into the world of Interiors has come as a natural progression of expand our creative horizons,” said Sandeep Khosla The challenge with the space at Lodha Ciel that the designers faced was the semi-circular shape of the area with no room being square. “Our approach was to make rooms, pleasing and reflection of the musings and indulgences without cluttering with furniture, explained Sandeep Khosla. Abu Jani adds, “The views were the inspiration to create the living area as a party place with open patios encircling the apartment as outdoor living areas.” On a concluding note, both the designers expressed their desire to keep exploring new areas, dreaming even bigger. “We are as passionate and as ambitious today as we were as young men and the future holds a lot of potential.”
