World’s Deepest Pool Opens in Dubai
Dubai has just become the host of yet another record-breaking attraction; the world’s deepest swimming pool. Dubai is no stranger to going big and they’ve now announced Deep Dive Dubai with a staggering depth of 60 meters (196 feet), beating out Poland’s Deepspot, which previously held the record of deepest pool with a depth of over 45 metres. The pool doubles up as its own underwater city, with Deep Dive Dubai having the volume of six Olympic-sized swimming pools. Not only that, but the depth is housing some serious gems, as divers are free to explore ‘abandoned’ sunken city apartments, play in an underwater arcade, enjoy sound systems that have been fitted inside the pool and can even enjoy the underwater film studio. The facilities within the pool are endless, with the attraction also offering courses for both diving beginners and certified divers, so you can get more comfortable within the depth. Safety measures have also been taken in the form of 56 cameras that are installed around the pool. The facility also has the most advanced hyperbaric chamber in the region in case of emergencies. The facility is set to open in late July and anyone is welcome to dive, as long as they are 10 years or older.
