An $8.5-million Alberta mansion used by Oscar-winning actor Leonard DiCaprio during the filming of The Revenant will go to unreserved auction in January, according to New York-based Concierge Auctions. The online bidding opens at 4 p.m. Mountain Standard Time on January 22 and continues until January 27, in cooperation with Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. The 15,283-square-foot, seven-bedroom property is currently listed at $8.5 million. It will go to the highest bid, according to Concierge Auctions. Each bidder must post a $100,000 deposit. The custom-built house sits on two landscaped acres at 209 Pinnacle Ridge Place S.W, and is about a 20-minute drive from downtown Calgary. The mansion has hardwood and maple floors, six and half bathrooms, a 25-metre swimming pool, a 1,000-square-foot fitness centre, a large home theatre, a wine cellar and a heated five-car garage. Understated stone and stucco complement the scenery, while craftsmanship and old-world artistry come alive inside. Opulent coffered ceilings, wide-plank hardwood floors, hand-crafted Venetian plaster walls, and a blend of the finest imported and local materials imbue sophisticated luxury,” the auction promotion reads.
