Kingsbridge Estates, the Chichester-based commercial property developer, has appointed Amiri Construction to develop over 11,000 sqm of innovative manufacturing space at Chichester Food Park, to create first class manufacturing facilities for Natures Way Foods (NWF), a leading supplier of ready-to-eat healthy fruit and salad products in the UK. Construction work has now started on the £19 million new site at Chichester Food Park, already home to NWF's two other pack houses at Runcton and Merston. The new plant will enable NWF to expand its business, whilst creating over 200 new jobs. Robert Langmead, Managing Director of Kingsbridge Estates, "We are proud to be investing in such a high quality sustainable development, and we look forward to working closely with Amiri Construction to create a first class food facility at Chichester. This project will be an important addition to our property portfolio and an endorsement of our policy to provide real estate solutions for clients in the food and beverage sector." According to PRNewswire, “The new facility, designed by MH Architects, will create a low-energy, sustainable chilled building with a focus on reduced impact on the environment. Finished with a curved solar PV roof and silver surface to ensure heat reflection, the building will also have a unique roof drainage system to capture rainwater and run off to the nearby pond systems.” Amiri have stated, "Having worked with Kingsbridge Estates to extend Natures Way's Runcton facility and build the award winning Merston plant we are delighted to once again team up to help deliver excellent business environments on the food park." Susan Barratt CEO of NWF "With the build of Drayton we plan to create one of the most advanced fresh food manufacturing facilities in the UK by creating a new facility that is innovative, green and a brilliant place to work'. Kingsbridge Estates has now begun construction works, with completion due by Spring 2017.
