Dubai plans US$1Billion infrastructure spend
Dubai authorities have backed investment of more than US$1 Billion in the country’s transport infrastructure, driving an optimistic outlook for the regional breakbulk sector. The country aims to solicit bids for road projects worth an estimated US$1.1 billion over the next eight months, according to Mattar Al Tayer, director general of Duabi’s Roads and Transport Authority.With oil prices having fallen sharply over the last year the Dubai government has increasingly focused attention on alternate sources of revenue, with infrastructure projects top of the list.
