Lackluster commercial real estate sales and lease transactions during the past six months depressed the overall activity in Maine’s real estate market, though residential activity and construction employment nudged up, a real estate group said. The index, which has a base number of 100, was at 100.1 for the first three months of 2019 compared with 100.4 in the first quarter of 2018. It declined by 2 percent over the past six months and was down 3.4 percent over the past year, both attributable to lackluster commercial real estate activity.
