China's Full-Glass Bridge Sets Guinness World Record
China's newly opened full-glass bridge in the southern province of Guangdong offers visitors the thrill of a lifetime. The bridge that spans across the Huangchuan Three Gorges in Lianzhou is 526-metre-long (1,725ft) and is currently the world's longest glass bridge Shortly after the opening, the representatives from the Guinness World Records on-site made it official that the structure was now the longest glass bridge on the world. The magnificent structure, which offers views of the Three Gorges Area and built over the Lianjiang River, was unveiled to the public on July 18. The bridge that spans across the Huangchuan Three Gorges in Lianzhou is 526-metre-long (1,725ft) and is currently the world's longest glass bridge. The bridge has four observation decks in the middle and can hold 500 tourists at once. The 518-metres long bridge hangs more than 100 metres above the ground level in the adventure park. The bridge is made with a special glass that has a thickness of 3.5 centimeters. Each pane of the special glass can hold a maximum of 4.7 tonnes. On average, the glass bridge can support about 2,600 people at a time.
