(August 6, 1944 Amritsar - July 05, 2016 Delhi-NCR) Born into a steel industrialists’ family, he dropped out from IIT Delhi within a year, joined architecture from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi and later on, worked with leading architects like Joseph Allen Stein and Ram Sharma Kanvinde.His passion for innovation in the field of low cost building technologies resulted in the Anangpur Building Centre, in Haryana in 1991. Some of his prominent works include Jaunapur slum resettlement in Delhi, Katha school for slum children, Jhalawar Housing in Rajasthan, Prince Ashokraje Gaekwad Pre-school in Gujarat, Bhartiyam Gram in Delhi, Exposition centre at Bengaluru, Kota General Hospital in Rajasthan and Vedaville Township in Jamaica. He has also written two books titled Threads of Sustainability and Green is Red.He was the prime member of Governing Council of Building Centre of HUDCO, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure Planning and Engineering Centre (UTTIPEC), The Energy and Research Institute (TERI), Oxfam, Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and United Nations Environment Program.
