Forest Hills offer a solution for second home buyers who are looking to have a quality life with their families away from the urban chaotic world. Viresh Chabbra, Founder of Tala Forest Hills and Living briefs Realty Plus.

It all began when I returned to India in 2007 after spending 17 years in the Dubai shipping industry. It was a desire to pursue something different, a desire to tread into the unknown that made me explore different facets of this beautiful country. I have always been a nature lover and as a child loved to go to parks and engage in outdoor activities. While India has progressed tremendously, our urban footprint has left us with limited avenues to experience living being surrounded by nature in its truest form. This got me thinking, I explored landscape around Maharashtra and found a place called Tala in the district of Raigad which offered a picturesque natural setting ideal for a holiday. What were the challenges in developing & managing the Forest Hills Resort? Since day one, Forest Hills was engulfed with challenges. As the site is situated in the interiors of Raigad, accessibility of resources was always an obstacle. Erected on a mountain, the terrain was the most pivotal area to conquer. Apart from the land, the major chunk of materials was exported from Mumbai and other cities, moving in and out almost 24/7. While labours were hired from the locals of Tala, professionals were called from Tamil Nadu to do all the thatch roof work. Water was one of the most arduous challenges as it used to get penetrated because of the soil conditions. Hence, we decided to build huge man-made ponds for rainwater storage.
Forest Hills was not just an aim; it was a vision, so even after facing the stated challenges, the site shaped up as per the plan, keeping sustainability as the prime standard.  With our partners at Architecture Brio, we strived to come up with a design that would enhance and value this incredible context, but also enable an exceptional experience in terms of stay.
How do you see the Forest Hill property appreciating in few years? From the time of inception of Forest Hills, the region has witnessed a monumental change. Before Forest Hills, the Tala village was a usual rural neighbourhood, hidden in the Sahyadris. But in the last couple of years, the place now is known as the eco-resort, shaped with the help of the local people of the region. With 4-laning of NH 17 under progress and the Dighi Port being developed which is just 25 km to Tala, this development will make the territory easily accessible and shorten the distance from 4 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes.

Tree Hugger and Hopper

Details about the property Taking the Kuda caves as a reference, our proposal for the Plateau is as bold as innovative. We are proposing 58 units in total out which Show Units for Tree Houses and Hermitage are ready and Cave Homes are proposed. Cave Homes and the Glass House (Tree House) have been designed by Architecture BRIO. Hermitage Homes and other two Tree Houses - Tree Hugger and Hopper are done by in-house designers.

The whole purpose of the property is to give the modern population a taste of rustic world with ample touch of luxury and sustainability. Other than the opulent stay in the serene lands of Forest Hills; we provide the buyer with maintenance, scrumptious cuisines (farm to fork), housekeeping, massage therapy, private pool, a Petting zoo, adventure activities, farming experience (fruits, vegetables, aqua culture, events, camping, sport site, natural trail, and miles & miles of open space to grow in and with nature.

The company’s vision is to grow organically keeping in mind the terrain and challenges faced in developing a region and positioning it as a go-to destination. The above factors also bring out a unique proposition of building homes to suit the environment and its habitat with natural resources available.
