Vadodara airport gets new terminal

The construction of a new terminal for international flights at the civilian Airport in Harni, on the outskirts of Vadodara, has been completed and it is likely to be commissioned shortly. The new terminal, constructed at a cost of Rs 160 crore, is on an area of 18,120 sq mt with the capability to handle 700 passengers, including 200 international, per hour. The project is part of Centre's effort to modernise the existing airports and develop them on par with international ones, according to Narendra Kumar Shukla, Project in-charge and General Manager, Airport Authority of India. Going ahead, the foundation stone for the new terminal was laid in 2009 and the construction work had started in May 2011.
