The district administration has decided to increase the utilization of treated waste water by connecting the pipelines with under-construction projects and industries on a trial basis. If the trial is successful, then it can be replicated in other parts of the city as well. The administration has also directed the officials to install piezometers in all community buildings for continuous monitoring of the water level in the city. The decision comes during the review meeting of the Jalshakti Abhiyan and Atal Bhujal scheme, headed by the deputy commissioner Yash Garg. In the meeting, Garg said that the areas where treated waste water is being supplied through pipelines should be connected with the under construction projects of 10 builders and industries, each to increase the utilization of treated waste water and reduce the dependency on ground water. “The importance of water conservation is more, particularly in a densely populated city like Gurgaon. Piezometers would be installed in all community buildings to make people aware of the depleting ground water level in the city. With this device, it will not only help in continuous monitoring of the depleting level of groundwater level in that area but it would also help in formulating water conservation policies in the future,” Garg said.
