Technical glitch holds up property registrations across Maharashtra
Smooth workflow still eludes the state registration department, which adopted the cloud technology to beat server snags earlier this year. Some changes in the government receipt accounting system (GRAS) servers have hampered registration work at the department’s offices for the last three days, bringing back long-waiting hours at the offices, thus, inconveniencing citizens. The Inspector General of Registration and Stamps (IGR) department said the changes made in the web services of the finance and land records departments developed glitches, thus, delaying the registration work. The changes in the GRAS servers impacted the services where the challans generated could not be accessed by the registration department, leading to disruption in registration services across the state. The citizens demanded that the department must ensure proper communication. K Thorat, an advocate who was helping out a client with registration, said the department do not put up any notices or announce anything.
