Sionic Expands India Base
Specialist financial services consulting firm Sionic has today [24 February 2020] announced the expansion of its main India base in Mumbai. Six months after the formal establishment of Sionic-India in August 2019, the Sionic Mumbai team has already grown to 29 staff and is continuing to recruit at pace, doubling the size of its office premises in Mumbai’s fast-growing Bandra-Kurla business district. Within India, Sionic is particularly active in Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai. This latest move comes in response to rapidly increasing client demand for Sionic’s services and forms part of Sionic’s wider global expansion across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Chris Crowe, Sionic co-founder and Managing Partner comments: “India is a rapidly expanding centre of global financial services, technology and innovation; an established consumer of Sionic’s services and a strategic growth priority for our firm. We already work with leading banks in the region as well as leveraging Indian expertise in our wider portfolio of services for our global client base. We believe there is significant opportunity to bring the full range of our services to Indian clients, to develop new products and services here and to expand our footprint much further across India and the region by expanding our Sionic-India base.” Peter Stone, Sionic Chief Strategy Officer and Learning & Development lead adds: “Sionic is unique among financial services consultancies in combining deep domain expertise and concentrated senior experience with an outstanding specialism in talent development programmes for high performing individuals working in banking, particularly those working in technology and operations functions. India is an educational powerhouse with an incredible appetite for learning and development, and we are delighted to be part of the professional development of banking skill in the region. Strategically, this blend of dynamic market conditions, growing client demand and outstanding expertise is the ideal platform from which we can continue to grow Sionic into the leading global provider of financial services expertise.” Manoj Rane, Sionic Partner and Sionic-India lead says “We have an established client base in India, a vibrant talent pool from which to recruit and extensive international links: that means we can provide Indian expertise to the world and bring Sionic’s world-leading expertise to India. It is an extremely exciting time for Sionic-India and I am delighted to be leading a team that is part of a firm which so clearly understands the power and potential of India.”
