Production to resume at Malabar Cements
Industries minister E P Jayarajan has said that public sector Malabar Cements Ltd (MCL), where production of cement was stopped on September 10, will resume working this month. The minister said that some "outside forces" are trying to destroy this profit-making public sector undertaking by putting up hurdles in its path. The company's production was hit after the then managing director K Padmakumar was removed from the post last month after his arrest in a corruption case. The company has established a record of sorts with a large number of its top officials facing corruption cases.
