Parsvnath ordered to fix lifts, fire safety in Exotica
Sub-divisional magistrate SanjivSinghla has issued a deadline of January 10 for Parsvnath Developers to resolve fire safety issues and problems with lifts in residential society Parsvnath Exotica on Golf Course Road. Residents approached the SDM, alleging the builder was neglecting the same and many lifts in the society were dysfunctional. The builder allegedly owes a large sum to the lift maintenance firm, which is why it wasn’t fixing the dysfunctional lifts. Also, the developer allegedly asked residents to shift into their flats even though it had not received an occupancy certificate (OC). Parsvnath Exotica has around 160 apartments. “We came to live here four years ago. We were told that we can move in as we will get the OC some months later but that did not happen. Last year, the builder’s annual maintenance contract with the lift maintenance firm expired and it did not renew it immediatley. Later it did but did not pay the firm. Around 6 -7 months ago, one of the lifts stopped working in the D6 tower. We called the firm and were told what had happened,” said a resident, YashHanda. Other residents said that the fire safety alarm too worked erratically. “The alarm buzzes, without any reason. The lifts in towers D4, D5 and D6 have issues but nothing is being done about it. So we pleaded with the SDM to intervene,” said Gagandeep Singh, another resident.
