Over 180 structures to be razed for riverfront development 2.0
Riverfront development 2.0 on the 350 m stretch between Jawahar Marg Bridge and Pagnispaga via Chandrabhaga would be developed demolishing over 180 structures. Illegal slums are also on this stretch, which is likely to disappear to pave way for the project. After developing riverfront space in CP Shekhar Nagar, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has now started planning on developing the second riverfront project. This 350-m stretch would be developed under Smart City and Rs 14.8 crore would be spent on this project, which would include widening of road between Jawaharmarg Bridge and Kabutarkhana. This riverfront development work includes widening of open space up to 30 m, restricting drain water from entering river and walking tracks. Parks, leisure spaces and green belts will also be constructed along the river banks on western side.
