Odisha targets 70MW rooftop solar
Odisha is targeting 70MW of rooftop solar by 2022 and has already received multiple residential applications. Ashok Choudhury, Deputy Director of projects at the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA), “It will be kind of a mix. There will be government buildings, private institutions, and residential buildings – all that together to reach the target.” Choudhury further said the target is “quite huge”, however OREDA has started contacting various organisations of the government, private and residential sectors. Similarly, an online portal has been set up for the residential sector and 300-400 applications have already been received, even though it will take another 10-15 days for the full launch.
