New Steel Minister
Chaudhary Birender Singh took over the charge of the Steel Ministry in New Delhi on Wednesday. He said that as the Indian steel industry is currently passing through a severe downturn his immediate attention will be its promotion and protection of its interests. Birender Singh has a long political career of over 44 years in public life and over 16 years as minister in the state and central governments.
