For the third time in a row, Nahar’s Amrit Shakti hosted its annual two-day workshop for its residents of its Green Ganesha initiative. In its constant efforts to spread awareness to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all, Nahar Group organized workshops on eco-décor and eco-Ganesha idol making. The objective behind organising these workshops is to encourage people to give back to mother earth and adopt the old traditional ways of creating various eco-friendly makhar decorations and Ganesha idols with the use of shadu clay, instead of using POP (plaster of Paris)and also providing them with a sense of responsibility as protectors of our environment. Spearheaded by the visionary; Ms. Manju Yagnik, Vice Chairperson of Nahar Group believes in educating and spreading awareness of the adverse effects on the environment during the festive season. Commenting on the initiative, Manju Yagnik, Vice Chairperson, Nahar Group, said, “It is overwhelming to witness people come together in huge number to contribute to the environment. Over the years, Mumbai as a state too has gone through an immense amount of environmental damage which as a result has been highly undermined by the ethos of the various festivals. From the past three years, Nahar Group has strived to do its best in promoting the initiative of ‘Go-Green’ as well as focusing on improving the social and physical quality of their living environment. Every year various initiatives are taken by many environmentalists to help in saving our planet, which we all participate and agree to. What makes these workshops different and to stand apart is that at Nahar, we believe in starting small and gradually growing strong.Nahar strongly believes in the importance of inculcating these values in our children is equally important, than as adults to just be aware about it and participate in cleaning drives.Alongside moulding our own eco- friendly Ganesha which is a step taken towards saving nature, we also make special arrangements for the visarjan of eco-friendly Ganesha by setting up an artificial pond made especially for the visarjan of these eco-friendly Ganeha’s. The water will dissolve all eco-friendly materials, which can then be used to water all the plants in and around the township. Nahar Group is celebrating this festive season with zest and excitement by welcoming eco-friendly Ganesha for 10days at Nahar’s Nectarfield Clubhouse. Nahar’s initiative of continuously being the proud host for such a thought-processing event through the years has definitely brought in awareness and educated parents. The residents at Nahar’s Amrit Shakti together as a community look forward to continue and contribute to our mother nature, for the rest of the coming years.
