Mindspace Business Parks REIT (‘Mindspace REIT’), with the endeavour to assist the Government in improving the medical infrastructure of Telangana, recently completed the construction of an additional floor at the Kondapur District Hospital, Serilingampally, Telangana. The floor was inaugurated by the Honourable Minster for Finance, Health, Medical, & Family Welfare Sri. T Harish Rao, today. In an effort to assist the local government in enhancing and strengthening the healthcare facilities of the state, this community service has been executed through K Raheja Corp group’s community impact arm, K Raheja Corp Foundation. The hospital, which earlier had Ground +2 floors, spread across 67,071 sq.ft., now adds a 3rd floor and 22,357 sq.ft. of additional space with 118 beds, making it a sprawling 89,428 sq.ft hospital. This will also enable a capacity to host 218 beds, equipped to treat larger number of patients. The floor has been meticulously designed to host emergency care, nursing stations, doctors’ room, etc. It is also provided with an acoustically treated roof, firefighting equipment, ramps, solar power, and surveillance system. Construction of the additional facility was carried out in collaboration with the State Government. This new floor is further equipped by the Government to provide oxygen support and ICU beds for the treatment of patients. Triggered by the shortage of beds and medical infrastructure during the peak of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the floor was designed and constructed in a record time frame of 60 days. The infrastructure will now provide improved healthcare amenities to patients across medical exigencies. The District Area Hospital currently provides treatment for OP patients, maternity, and other general medical facilities. The hospital run by the Government makes healthcare affordable and accessible to all. Speaking at the inauguration, Honourable Minister for Finance, Health, Medical, & Family Welfare at Telangana Govt., Sri. T Harish Rao, said, “We are glad to see corporates stepping up to support the local communities in ramping up health infrastructure. We would like to thank Mindspace REIT for improving access to healthcare facilities in the state. Their Business Parks have been an integral part of the community, creating jobs for our state, and we are happy to see the initiatives being taken to support the local populace.” Vinod Rohira, Chief Executive Officer at Mindspace Business Parks REIT, said at the event, “We are happy to use our expertise in building spaces, to construct this additional floor at the hospital. At the peak of the pandemic, the state witnessed acute shortage of beds and other medical facilities, and we worked with the government to address the challenges.  While we hope the pandemic continues to recede, this initiative is part of our endeavour to work with the local authorities to strengthen the medical infrastructure of the state. This extension will act as a catalyst to build a better ecosystem which will enable improved healthcare and development. We believe, every contribution towards healthcare plays a critical role in building healthier communities.”
