Kailash Aggarwal, Joint Secretary Ministry of Shipping visits the Allcargo Logistics Skill Development

In a bid to play its role in catering to the growing trained workforce requirement in the logistics sector, Allcargo Logistics Limited Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK) center at JNPT has been inviting senior industry professionals and officials to motivate the students of the skill development programs to explore various career options in the logistics sector.

Recently, Mr. Kailash Aggarwal, IAS, Joint Secretary Ministry of Shipping visited the centre on August 17, 2019 and praised the efforts of Allcargo Logistics in conducting skill development programmes for underprivileged youth and boosting their employability opportunities in India’s rapidly expanding logistics sector. Mr. Jaywant Dhawale, Chief Manager Administration and Secretary, JNPT; Mrs. Manisha Jadhav, Manager Personnel and Industrial Relations, JNPT and Mr. Chandrakant Patil, manager, Skill Development Centre, Allcargo Logistics and other officials, during his visit.

Mr. Aggarwal, during his visit, went to see the centre and the centre classroom, reception, counselling room, placement cell, training laboratories, smart labs, pantry, kitchen and other facilities with other dignitaries. He interacted with the students and enquired about the course, curriculum, their understanding and additional requirements. Students, in response, said that the facilities and course curriculum has exceeded their expectations. He also distributed the handbooks to the new batch of consignment tracking executive students.

“Skill development is the need of the hour to drive growth in the logistics sector. The government is focusing on skill development to leverage the huge demographic advantage. Skilled workforce will be able to contribute to the economy in a sustainable way which, in turn, will facilitate economic growth of the country. I appreciate Allcargo Logistics’ role in taking the vision of the government forward with its PMKK at JNPT,” said Mr. Aggarwal.

“Allcargo Logistics Limited will always remain committed to making the logistics sector of the country a skill-driven industry.  The PMKK is working towards enhancing the employability of the youth by providing them industry-specific training and building skill proficiencies across key functional areas of the supply chain. We regularly organise visits by the industry dignitaries at our PMKK at JNPT to motivate the students to explore career opportunities in the sector,” said Dr. Nilratan Shende, GM - CSR, Allcargo Logistics.
