JSPL reports highest ever steel production in Q4
Steelmaker Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) reported Tuesday its highest ever quarterly steel production and sales numbers at 1.51 million and 1.45 million tonnes, respectively, in the March quarter (Q4). The company had produced 1.26 million tonnes during the January-March quarter a year ago while sales in that quarter stood at 1.18 million tonnes. "Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) reports its highest ever domestic quarterly steel production and sales in Q4 financial year 2018-19," the company said in a statement. During Q4, JSPL registered a record crude steel production of 1.51 million tonnes and sales of 1.45 million tonnes, the statement added. "In the fourth quarter, we continued the momentum. With the ramp up in production at Angul, we are confident of further accelerating the growth momentum, both in production and sales," said Naushad Akhter Ansari, joint managing director of Jindal Power and Steel. Part of the $22 billion diversified OP Jindal Group, JSPL has significant presence in core infrastructure sectors including steel, power, mining and infrastructure.
