Industrial Unit making spurious cement busted in UP capital
An industrial unit manufacturing spurious cement for sale under famous brand names was busted in a raid by district administration on Sunday. The factory is located across Mohan road which is a heavily populated slum and had been supplying the spurious cement in the city for past two years. Police are now tracing traders, shopkeepers passing on this the mixture in the construction business.
SDM (Sadar) Raj Kamal Yadav received a message on the cell phone with a tip-off about an illegal factory preparing cement with a mixture of soil, sand and other inferior quality of cement This is not the first time a factory has been raided of such activities.
FIR has been lodged against the owner and factory operator. When the district administration team arrived at the factory, they found hundreds of sacks ready to be taken to different parts of the city for sale. The factory compound had four different sections where they have installed a mixture machine and a mine to prepare the cement. According to officials, it was running since 2014.
Case has been registered under Section 420(cheating and dishonestly delivery) and trademark act 1999 along with section 486(selling goods marked with a counterfeit property mark) against owner of the factory, said SDM Sadar Raj Kamal.
