Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has finalised a solar power tender issue with a record low fixed maximum rate of INR 4 per kWh (USD 0.060/EUR 0.054). The tender concerns the 750-MW Bhadla solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the state of Rajasthan. This project will be realised with Viability Gap Funding (VGF) support, the PTI's informed person has said, adding that SECI has now completed auctions for about 5,410 MW under that scheme in less than 15 months. The record so far has been held by Finnish firm Fortum Finnsurya Energy, which in January won a 70-MW project in Rajasthan with a bid of INR 4.34 per kWh.
