Ikea has developed new furniture for gamers in collaboration with Republic of Gamers (ROG). The new pieces are currently available in China and will be available in Japan starting in May. The line will be available globally starting in October. 2021. ”The needs of billions of gamers around the globe are very diverse, whereas the existing offer is rather technical and often perceived as masculine design-wise, despite around 46% of gamers being female,” said Ewa Rychert, Ikea global business leader of workspace. “We believe there’s a lot to be done to democratize the gaming experience.”  Rychert said the company is initiating its gaming line by presenting affordable, high-performing gaming products. Ikea partnered with ROG, which is a sub-brand of the computer company ASUS, and has in-depth knowledge of the gaming industry. The collaboration aimed to create relevant, functional, beautiful and affordable products that would allow consumers to create the setup that they want.  The new gaming range targets PC gamers and includes more than 30 products, including furniture such as gaming desks and chairs and accessories such as a mug holder, a mouse bungee, a neck pillow and a ring light. There will be six product families that each offer a gaming desk chair from a different price range to meet the needs of different target groups.
