The company having a strong presence in south India, Goa and Maharashtra, is planning two new production plants in Vizag and Mumbai in the next two to three years. `` The two plants can cater to the demand in eastern and western parts of the country,’’ said M Ravinder Reddy, director, marketing,f Bharathi Cement. Reddy, who was here for the launch of its new ultra-fast multipurpose green cement best suited for cement bricks manufacturing for the first time in the country, said the company hopes to raise its present market share of 4% in the country by another 1 % with the new plants and products.`` We will next come out with an environment-friendly composite green cement which will use less limestone,’’ Reddy said. Besides Bharathi Cement’s 5 million tonne capacity plant at Kadapa, Vicat group owns another cement unit in Karnataka with 2.75 million tonnes now. The cement industry in the country, which has been growing at about 5% annually for the last few years, is seeing a better prospects in the current year. `` The growth could increase to 7 to 8% this year probably because the government spending is more as it is the year before the election. The growth in South India which was stagnant will be much better by around 15% in the year,’’ Reddy said.
