Hindware to Build Toilets across India
Hindware, pledges to send lakhs of girls back to school by building toilets across India under its ‘Build a Toilet, Build her Future’ campaign. This initiative came to life in Bahadurgarh last year where the brand involved the architect community to design economical yet functional toilets. Taking this initiative ahead this year Hindware will be constructing 50+ toilets across 2 states. The campaign focuses on encouraging the girl child to continue schooling by providing access to adequate sanitation infrastructure at schools. As part of the initiative and considering reopening of Schools after the pandemic, this year, Hindware aims to rebuild and/or construct 50+ toilets covering 19 schools, across Gurugram, Sonipat, Udaipur and Bahadurgarh. Hindware has collaborated with MA My Anchor, an NGO to ensure on-ground execution. The NGO has a vision of a self-reliant society with an improved environment and is working towards issues around water and sanitation. Sandip Somany, Chairman & Managing Director, Brilloca Ltd, said, “As the leader in the bathroom industry in India, we felt that we had a responsibility to use our expertise to build sanitation facilities in rural areas. Lack of accessible toilets in schools in India poses a serious issue for children, especially for girls. We hope our effort will enable and empower young girls in these villages. And we will continue this journey by tying up with many more schools across the country spreading hygiene empowerment.” Sudhanshu Pokhriyal, Chief Executive Officer, Bath Business, Brilloca, said “Through the Build A Toilet, Build Her Future campaign, we aim to facilitate access to hygienic sanitation in schools for girls which will help them to continue their education for a longer period of time. In a bid to create awareness among masses, Hindware has also launched a marketing campaign across multiple channels. With the help of a short digital films and other mediums to sensitize & encourage people to spread the message and take part in this cause.”
