H M Bharuka appointed as the Director of Kansai Paints
H M Bharuka, vice chairman and managing director of Kansai Nerolac Paints has been appointed as director on the board of the parent company Kansai Paints Co., Japan, following a resolution passed by the shareholders at the company’s AGM in Osaka on June 29. The selection has made Bharuka the first non-Japanese to be appointed to the board of the company. Bharuka has been with KNPL since 1985, and has been leading the company’s growth in the paint industry, including industrial and decorative coatings segment in India. He was appointed as a member of the Global Steering Committee of Kansai Paint Co., Japan, in 2011, a move that reflects the importance of India and KNPL in the Japanese company’s growth plans.
