Emami cement eyes pan-India footprint

Emami group plans to have a national footprint for its cement business in next 5-7 years by setting up plants in Rajasthan and Karnataka. It is in the process of setting up a plant at Panagarh in West Bengal with a capacity of 2 million tonnes per annum (mpta) at a cost of Rs 500 crore. The plant would be ready by December 2016. Aditya Agarwal, Director, Emami Group said, “The clinker plant at Chhattisgarh was operational with a capacity of 5 mtpa involving an investment of Rs 3,000 crore. Another plant would come up in Odisha with a capacity of 1.5 mtpa. From cement, the expected annual revenue would be Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 3,000 crore per year.”
