Cement only in red bags in Andhra
The state government asked cement manufacturers to supply stock exclusively in red colour bags. The firms readily accepted the decision, which was forwarded by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The CM met senior executives of top cement companies in the secretariat, here on Monday. Naidu said criminal charges would be slapped against individuals using the red cement bags for private use. In the meeting, the corporate executives negotiated with the state officials on the price of stock for government programmes. The CM asked the firms to be reasonable as Polavaram project would alone need one million tonnes of cement. Later, the companies agreed to supply stock at Rs 250 per bag for Polavaram project.
