Builders in Visakhapatnam claim increase in sand supply
a day after it, real estate developers claimed that supply of sand in the city has increased considerably in the last seven to 10 days. Moreover, not only are they hopeful that the situation would return to normal within a month, but also believe that if things work out as expected then the fluctuation in prices of sand will not have an effect on the real estate sector in the city. “To be honest, supply of sand to Visakhapatnam city has increased considerably in the past one week. The situation is returning to normal. We are hopeful that the supply would become steady within a month,” Kotteswara Rao, a real estate developer and former president of Credai, Visakhapatnam Chapter, told. In a bid to address the issue of scarcity of sands in Visakhapatnam urban areas, the state government had recently allotted an exclusive reach in Denkada, Vizianagaram district, specifically for the region. Besides, the government had also decided to resume mining in the two reaches in Srikakulam, that cater to Visakhapatnam urban area.
