BPL launches a slew of offerings in the home automation, surveillance segments

India’s consumer electronics company BPL has unveiled a slew of offerings for the home automation and surveillance segment, under the brand BPL iQ – BPL iQ Smart Automation and BPL iQ Smart Surveillance. BPL iQ, BPL’s intelligent home automation and surveillance offering, has a solution for every kind of lifestyle. It connects everything and everyone in a way that it becomes possible to relax, enjoy free time, enjoy customized security and safety, and take full control of home functions. “The BPL brand has always been about quality, comfort and tech superiority. Our new offerings in the home automation and surveillance segment bring the same technologically advanced, easy to operate systems that ease and secure our lives. BPL iQ Smart Automation is an advanced and cutting edge wireless technology, indigenously designed, developed and manufactured in Bangalore, India. BPL iQ Smart Automation is targeted at those customers who are keen to get seamless integration and connectivity with electronics and home functions, along with the freedom to control and manage life better. The BPL iQ Home Automation system begins from as little as Rs.50,000/-. “We are very bullish on the businesses that we are venturing into. The total market size of the market for Automation is guess-estimated to be Rs.600 Cr. and we are targeting to corner around 20% of this market in the next 3 years or so. Our expectations from the Surveillance business, which is pegged at Rs. 2,500 Crore, is that we should be doing business worth around Rs.100 Cr in the first year of operations and then scale it up to around Rs. 250 Cr in the next 3 years. These are achievable targets since these are hugely after sales service oriented industries and the BPL service network with over 6000 touch-points is unparalleled,” dds Kumar. In New Delhi, BPL iQ has appointed ELCOM as its distributor and plans are afoot to appoint around 50 dealers and 20 system integrators to service the Delhi-NCR market. BPL has already appointed 10 distributors and over 300 dealers across India.
