Ambuja Cement has been ranked 7thby the internationally renowned Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) in the construction material category, making the company the only Indian manufacturer to be awarded such a high rank. Part of the global conglomerate LafargeHolcim, and one of the leading cement companies in India, Ambuja Cement has received this ranking due to its goal of sustainable development, as well as performing well in key parameters. DJSI are benchmarks that use a best in class approach, to select sustainable leaders from various industries internationally. “It is a moment of pride that our sustainability performance has been recognised globally,” said Ambuja Cement Managing Director, and CEO Ajay Kupar. “The high ranking in the most renowned DJSI reaffirms our commitment to the principles of sustainable development”. Ambuja Cement has also recently received six other awards in the arena of sustainable development, as well as two prestigious awards at the international seminar, held by the National Council for Cement, and Building Materials.
