Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL) in association with Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (CGCEL) launched the energy efficient LED lighting programme for its customers in north and northwest Delhi.
This is the first utility based discounted LED lighting programme. Under the programme, the complete range of LED lighting products with 11 assortments (eg driven globules, tube lights, panels and down lighters and so forth) would be offered to the TPDDL customers at discounted rates.
TPDDL’s main intent behind the LED lighting programme is to increase the penetration of LED lighting products among its customer base which will result in energy saving and reduction in customers’ electricity bills. The complete range of LED lighting products will provide competitive pricing and warranty to its patrons.
Furthermore, this will build efficient load management and will increase awareness about energy efficient technologies and lights. Substantial rebates up to 60 percent will be given on the MRP of the items. The programme will be run for six months, beginning April 5, 2016. TPDDL consumers can purchase LED lighting products from counters set up at customer care centers from Monday to Friday from 10am-5pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 1pm.
Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, TPDDL, said, “We at Tata Power – DDL have been at the front line of embracing and adopting environment friendly practices by finding ways to improve energy efficiency and its conservation. This programme will surely help us in promoting the usage of energy efficient products amongst our consumer base and will also help consumers to keep a check on their electricity bills.”
Supplanting of CFLs and FTLs with LED alternatives would bring energy savings of up to 40-50 percent. All LED lighting products come with a guarantee of two years with the exception of LED bulbs where it will be three years from the date of invoice. All complaints related to the products will be handled by Crompton at the toll free number printed on the product packs. These LED lighting products can be purchased from the kiosks / sales counters set up by CGCEL at various Tata Power-DDL customer care centers from Monday to Friday between 10am-5pm and on Saturday from 10am to 1 pm.
