Sand lorry owners' federation wants TN to cut M-sand rates

The Tamil Nadu State Sand Lorry Owners Federation has questioned the rationale behind the state government selling M-sand at higher rates than that of neighbouring states and sought transparency in the operations. Federation president S Yuvaraj also alleged of rampant corruption in lease given out to blue metal crushers to break mountains for quarrying in Kancheepuram district and hinted at protest by the association during the coming summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President XI Jinping in Mamallapuram to highlight the issue.
