Pune civic body earns crores in property tax

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has collected Rs 37crore as property tax in the first three days of the new fiscal. Over 7 lakh bills have been dispatched, while 3 lakh more are to be distributed. As per the PMC officials, the revenue is likely to go up in 2019-20 fiscal as more properties have been added in PMC limits. The merger of 11 villages has increased the properties in the city by 1.67 lakh. The number of properties in the municipal limits has crossed the 10-lakh mark with the addition of these properties.
