Kalpataru Power Transmission reports Q3 PAT at Rs. 75.23 crores

Kalpataru power transmission (KPT)’s standalone revenue increased by 25.6% yoy to Rs1,417.4cr from Rs1,128.6cr (net of excise duty) in Q3FY17. EBITDA grew by 27.7% yoy to Rs151.9cr from Rs119.05cr in Q3FY17. EBITDA increase was a result of sharp decline in other expenses and employee cost as a proportion to the sales in the quarter. EBITDA margin inched up a bit by 17bps from 10.5% in Q3FY17 to 10.7% in Q3FY18. Following a good operating performance, net profit during the quarter increased by 31.7% yoy to Rs75.2cr vs. Rs57.1cr in Q3FY17.
Standalone order book stood at Rs10,532cr as on December 30, 2017 (net of GST). The company had new order inflows of Rs2,812cr in Q3FY18 while YTDFY18 order intake was Rs8,440cr.
Its subsidiary - JMC Projects (India) Ltd’s standalone revenue came in at Rs706.6cr (up 29% yoy) as a result of improved execution while EBITDA increased by 46% yoy to Rs70.3cr and EBITDA margin came in at 9.9% in Q3FY18 (8.8% in Q3FY17). Order book stood at Rs7,500cr as on December 31, 2017 (net of GST). The company had new order inflows of Rs1,332cr in Q3FY18, while YTDFY18 order intake was Rs2,704cr.
Another subsidiary Shree Shubham Logistics Ltd's (SSL) revenue grew by 31% yoy to Rs19.1cr. EBITDA came in at Rs8.6cr vs. loss of Rs1.7cr in Q3FY17, while margin improved to 45.1%. However, it reported loss of Rs4.7cr at the net level (vs. loss of Rs15.4cr in Q3FY17).
