India to get electricity from offshore wind energy
India will get electricity generated by wind-propelled plants in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu in about five years.

A 100 MW pilot project will likely to be installed in ocean off Gujarat in about three years. It is to kickstart a new power generating sector under the Facilitating Offshore Wind in Industry(FOWIND) programme funded by European Union.
