International sanitary fittings brand Grohe has announced the launch of its second Grohe Dual Tech in India, in New Delhi. After its successful run in Mumbai, Grohe, in association with Don Bosco Learning Center, is all set to train young people from economically challenged backgrounds in the region by imparting training programme in certified plumbing.
The official launch was held on May 19th, 2016. The centre was inaugurated by Michael Mager, Executive Director Personnel and Organisation, Grohe AG and Renu Misra, Managing Director, Grohe India Pvt. Ltd.
The programme addresses the dual need of the industry - on one hand it supports the youth with skill development, while on the other, fills the skilled-labour supply gap.
Grohe Dual Tech aims to enhance the professionalism of the local plumbing trade. The institute will play an instrumental role in empowering the young individuals to learn plumbing skills and make a career in the Indian sanitary fittings industry.
Michael Mager, Executive Director Personnel and Organisation, Grohe AG said, “In the sanitary fittings sector, skilled plumbers play a significant role and are vital to the overall landscape. Youth trained at the Grohe Dual Tech gives them the recognition of certified plumbers from the Academy and subsequently find employment. The training also prepares them for meeting international standards of technical excellence while serving their customers.”
Renu Misra, Managing Director, Grohe India said in a statement: "The foundation of Grohe Dual Tech as an initiative stems from the realisation of our responsibility towards the people and the environment. With this institutional framework we see ourselves contributing to the upliftment of underprivileged children and young people in the poorest regions. We see high demand for skilled workers in the sanitary ware and real estate space in India. The country continues to have a large number of unemployed youth. We determined to plug this gap and create opportunities for ambitious young people.
We have come a long way by helping the youth of India in acquiring relevant skills and thereby elevating their living standards with the Grohe Dual Tech. I’m pleased to announce the next step in our endeavour to equip Indian youth with a perfect blend of vocational and inter-personal skills and make them ready for the future.”
