CCI Investigation against Cement Companies

The fair trade regulator - The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has initiated an investigation against UltraTech Cement and two subsidiaries of the world’s largest cement maker LafargeHolcim. Swiss-based LafargeHolcim confirmed that officials visited the Mumbai offices of ACC and Ambuja Cements and said the companies were fully cooperating with the authorities. ACC said it is of the firm view that it has acted and continues to act in compliance with competition laws and we are fully cooperating with the investigation and providing all necessary information to the authorities. Ambuja Cements also said the Competition Commission of India has initiated an investigation against cement companies in India including Ambuja Cements regarding alleged anti-competitive behavior.
