Three labourers were killed and over dozen others were injured in an accident at a ACC cement plant at Sindri in Dhanbad district on Thursday, police said.
The incident took place at around 5.30 pm when repairing work on a conveyer belt was going on while the cement begs were loaded on the belt.

After some maintenance work at least 20 labourers went inside the section for its examination when suddenly the conveyer belt started operating, sources said. Three of the workers who died in the incident were identified as Gopal Singh, AjitGorai and HimaiMandal. They came in contact with the machine and then bags started falling on them and killing them on the spot leaving others critically injured, sources added.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to a local Asian Jalan Hospital, Dhanbad of the company from where they were being shifted to other place after treatment, sources added.
